
Coconut Oil is considered by many to be the #1 best oil for health, above olive oil and any of the seed oils.
It is extremely stable (oxidizes the slowest of all oils), is helpful for those requiring a more active metabolism, is an excellent source of energy (wonderful for both athletes AND those who want to lose weight!), and has many health-giving properties.
Coconut Oil has a particularly special place in my own story, because it helped me stabilize my system after the consumption of too much processed soy damaged and slowed my thyroid function. I used it throughout my weight loss journey, and recommend it highly for that.
I’ll never forget the first time I tried coconut oil — I put a teaspoon in my tea while at work, and for the next two hours I was on fire with a kind of “heat” and energy I hadn’t known for quite some time. I was amazingly productive!
That evening, I went home and cooked my family’s chicken & potatoes dinner in coconut oil, and even though it had been a full day at the office, with a long commute each way, I had so much energy I cleaned the entire house! I always purchase a better quality brand — it definitely matters as far as taste. My favorite coconut oils are in the brown glass jars, which help to protect it from light. And be sure to get the cold-pressed varieties offered on this page, so that the wonderful health-giving properties of the oil haven’t been damaged by heat.

Coconut Oil and Coconut Butter are the exact same food — the difference is that it is an oil below 78 degrees, and it solidifies into a buttery consistency (harder as it gets colder) above 78 degrees. The Coconut Oil described and sold on this page is NOT the hydrogenated coconut oil that has deservedly fallen into ill repute. Raw Coconut Oil is a blessing (not an evil) for anyone with cholesterol and thyroid health challenges! I highly recommend purchasing some of the books offered here to help you research and understand why that is so.
When I first was introduced to Coconut Oil, it was in 2000, before it was generally understood to be so healthful. It wasn’t even in my local health food store at the time, and I had to pay an Indian colleague of mine to pick up a bottle for me at his local grocer. I remember it coming in a tall bright-blue bottle with a long skinny neck and narrow top, and I was mystified as to why it was packaged in such a way because I had such a hard time getting it out — it was summer, and in my air-conditioned kitchen, the oil was quite solid. Then when it liquified naturally later in the season, I understood — coconut oil is naturally liquid in the warmer climates all the time! I’m so glad that the raw coconut oils now available are packaged in wide-mouth jars.
In addition, the oil I was able to purchase then was a coarser grade made from “copra”, or dried coconut. It had a strong flavor, quite unlike the delicately perfumed coconut oil available here! You can eat it straight off the spoon, it is just that delicious!

Unlike long-chain saturated animal fats (that have been associated with creating poor health), Coconut Oil contains healthy, healing, medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs). How To Use Coconut Oil/Butter
Coconut Butter liquefies at 78 degrees Fahrenheit and is then known as Coconut Oil due its liquid consistency.
As a Superfood: An adult can daily consume 2+ tablespoons of Coconut Oil either straight or blended into a favorite beverage (tea, smoothie, elixir, etc.) or mixed as a snack with other superfoods (goji berries, Ocean’s Alive Marine Phytoplankton, spirulina, bee pollen, etc.).
Coconut Oil can be added to chocolate products (Cacao Nibs, Cacao Beans, Cacao Butter, Cacao Powder, etc.) to create healthy, raw chocolate desserts.
One should cook with Coconut Oil instead of olive oil or butter. Coconut Oil is more stable under heat and never forms toxic trans-fatty acids.
