Lovely, velvety, with a romantic rosy blush… and you hardly need romance happening to enjoy it. I poured a couple out to enjoy with my father, who liked it very much.

By now, if you’ve been following me for any length of time, surely you have some rose water in your cabinet that desires to make fresh appearances now and then, and this is a great way to enjoy it! Even if you choose to leave the vodka out (two recipes included, here), this is a delicious blend of mango, strawberry, and rose water to help keep the summer heat at bay.

I love rose water almost as much as I love great vanilla. Almost. And if you’re like me, and you appreciate quick & filling meals that also taste great, you’ll love this combination.

Which, by the way, you can also make with either vanilla or orange blossom water instead of the rose water! *swooning on all counts*

It’s sooooo simple, you’ll wonder why we haven’t been enjoying this type of thing for aeons already in our food culture. But… start now. This should become a classic!

This is a salted dish, which you can alter for your own tastes, if you prefer. For my part, I am currently living in the 85-95% raw zone, with at least three 32-oz blenderful of Live Green Smoothies every day, and I find I need salt to balance out all the fruit & greens. It’s a “yang vs. yin” thing which I have observed time and time again when I go high-raw.

So, salted and fat-rich dishes help very much to allow me to take the high-raw journey with comfort and satisfaction, as well as that emerging “raw glow”.

This is a non-fat recipe with no added sugar, and a non-savory (no onions, no garlic, no olive oil) way to enjoy the health benefit of your jucy summer tomato harvest!

If you’re trying to lose weight, if you’re watching your sugar, if you follow a Weight Watchers program, or looking to increase your tomato consumption to strengthen your heart-health, this is a unique dish you might want to check out.

Thinly sliced watermelon layered with thinly sliced juicy tomato wedges, “frosted” with an aromatic Strawberry-Rose glaze sweetened only with a few red grapes! Add a bit of quality salt to bring out the sweetness and you’ve got a great side dish for the summer table… or a juicy feast for one!

We tend to think of tomato as a veggie, but in fact it’s a fruit… and it behaves nicely as one when paired with many fruits.

(By the way, I ate this whole thing — eventually — for dinner. Seriously filled me up. Drank whatever berry glaze was left. *slurp* Good stuff!)

At times this is a staple in our house. It’s just so brainlessly easy to make, and so ridiculously delicious, I love having it on the table to go owith whatever else is rummaged up.

Fresh papaya is so succulent and rich… like juicy butter! It’s such a wonder that it has no fat in it. How does nature do that???\

Adding a bit of cane sugar balances out the quirky cheesiness of the flavor (and of course, you can leave its natural sweetness alone if you like!), and the rose water… well, the rose water makes it taste like candy. Or the way candy wishes it tastes…

It’s easy to eat half of this by oneself. Definitely make this with a whole giant papaya, because it keeps nicely in the fridge and makes for something delicious to pick up when you’re craving a little sumpin’ and feelin’ lazy.

And if you feel like switching it up for some variety… just use Orange Blossom water instead!

The way tomatoes taste in heaven…

This is a sweet, tropical answer to the Bloody Mary, and I’ll bet you’ve never had anything like it!

The intent of this recipe was to make a Tomato-Rose Sorbet sweetened with Mango, made creamy with Zucchini, and made aromatic with Rose Water. But it was so delicious, I couldn’t wait for it to freeze and drank it as a smoothie aperitif. The result… a delicious, wonderfully flavorful beverage that makes a truly 100% raw cocktail… and also a great creamy sorbet when frozen!

I’ve been asked by a few people to showcase more fresh tomato recipes, so I have that trend going on right now. And one thing to remember: tomatos go great with mango! Remember that the next time you want to prepare a colorful sandwich or salad platter for company. Or for yourself. They complement each other so very well, with the earthy pungency of the tomato slightly mellowed by the tropical sweetness of the mango.

Add rose water and this really does get ethereal.

What… you don’t have any rose water yet! Get with the program, darlin’… you simply must have that in your cupboard a.s.a.p!

This lovely fresh tea looks like raspberry sherbet and isn’t made with tea at all but, like all my Warm Live Teas, is a raw smoothie made with fresh fruit, then gently warmed to a cozy temp… and take all of a couple minutes to whip up!

A simple refresher… but with exotic appeal. And gorgeous to serve to a guest… or enjoy just by your quiet self.

If you don’t have any rose water on hand, you can leave it out. But do get some… rose water blends winningly with so many Warm Live Teas and Live Green Smoothies!

And for added healthifying zing, just add a small handful of fresh parsley or baby spinach to the recipe to turn your tea into a “Live-Green” tea.

(Above: Pear-Ginger Warm Live Tea)

Warm Live Teas are similar to Warm Live Soups… they’re smoothies made from raw ingredients, then briefly warmed up without cooking them. But in this case, the teas are sweet. And so delicious.

Instead of having a decaf herbal tea flavored with the essence of fruit, just make a warm tea from the fruit itself!

Here is a very soothing Warm Live Tea made with pear and fresh ginger root, and another one made with delicately aromatic Rose Water. Pear and rose is a classic combo, and it works just great here!
