<p>I love rose water almost as much as I love great vanilla. Almost. And if you&#8217;re like me, and you appreciate quick &amp; filling meals that also taste great, you&#8217;ll love this combination.</p>
<p>Which, by the way, you can also make with either vanilla or orange blossom water instead of the rose water! *swooning on all counts*</p>
<p>It&#8217;s sooooo simple, you&#8217;ll wonder why we haven&#8217;t been enjoying this type of thing for aeons already in our food culture. But&#8230; start now. This should become  a classic!</p>
<p>This is a salted dish, which you can alter for your own tastes, if you prefer. For my part, I am currently living in the 85-95% raw zone, with at least three 32-oz blenderful of Live Green Smoothies every day, and I find I need salt to balance out all the fruit &amp; greens. It&#8217;s a &#8220;yang vs. yin&#8221; thing which I have observed time and time again when I go high-raw.</p>
<p>So, salted and fat-rich dishes help very much to allow me to take the high-raw journey with comfort and satisfaction, as well as that emerging &#8220;raw glow&#8221;.</p>

The grapefruits have caught my eye and I decided that a refreshing fruit salad was in perfect order, due to&#8230; er&#8230; a little excess feasting with the fam today. Heh.</p>
<p>Thing is, while I enjoy the natural bitterness of grapefruit, I didn&#8217;t want that bitterness to be the starring role. So, with a bit of mango, pear, and Greek thyme honey, I assembled a delightful cast that contributes both sweetness and a creamy softness to the dish. And removing the membrane from each grapefruit section goes a long way to enhancing pleasure here.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a great little salad. Would love to wake up to it any day, but this evening&#8230; it&#8217;s serving as a tasty digestif.</p>

<p>If you want to jack up the heavenly aroma and alluring flavor, pour a 1 oz. shot of muscat dessert wine over top. The famous Muscato from Samos, which I grew up on (that may explain a few things&#8230;heh), has been called &#8220;nectar of the gods&#8221; for ages, and deservedly so. And it goes beautifully with watermelon.</p>

<p>This dish, suitable for a filling breakfast or a cozy, comforting dessert, took all of <em>10 minutes</em> to make&#8230; including the pumpkin seed milk from scratch <em>and</em> the photos! It&#8217;s quick, simple, easy, uses ingredients that are readily available in most supermarkets and are easy to keep on hand&#8230; and is sure to be a massive hit with kids <em>any</em> time of day!</p>
<p>You can substitute any of your favorite nuts or seeds for this milk &#8212; whatever you have on hand, such as almond, walnut, pecan, or hemp &#8212; but pumpkin seeds are a particular favorite of mine because A) they&#8217;re packed with nutrition, and B) they&#8217;re uber-cheap compared with other nuts &amp; seeds. Be sure to get them raw and from the bulk section of your grocery store or health food shoppe.</p>
