Saturday’s Live Green Smoothie 85% Challenge Results
Posted by: Angela Leeds In: *Live Green Smoothie 85% Challenge
Not bad at all for Day 1, considering it wasn’t until mid-afternoon, really, that I decided to do this. I’d say… meh… around 65% raw is a good estimate. But nothing but Live Green Smoothies after 1:30!
What I Ate
For brekkies and lunch… some odd choices, not at all meals I normally turn to but… grabbing what’s available:
At 6:30 a.m. bowl of cereal with organic milk. And around 1:30 p.m…. a bit of Wolfgang Puck’s organic chicken w/ wild rice soup with a bit of 2% FAGE greek yogurt added. And a ham sandwich.
Then around 5:30… I made 4 blenderfuls of LGSs and drank nearly 3 of them, with nothing else to eat the rest of the day:
- Two blenderfuls of Cantaloupe-Lime Live Green Smoothie, one with frozen strawberries instead of ice because my parents froze some fresh berries and have a freezer packed with them.
- Another LGS with 1/2 a cantaloupe, mixed baby greens, and frozen strawberries.
- And another LGS made with frozen strawberries and three little very ripe bananas, with baby spinach.
I used “Organic Girl” brand triple-washed greens. One is an “Herb Baby Romaine” combo, and the other was “Baby Spinach”. It’s a great product. I don’t bother washing these greens again when I get them home, tho other brands I do. I got three 32 oz. Live Green Smoothies out of one container, each one costing $3.99.
Oops… and add a small glass of 5-star Metaxa brandy over ice is keeping me company whilst I write this.! A delicious taste-of-the-Greek-isles nightcap keeping me company while I work in the week hours.

Cost
I spent around $14 at the grocery store on 2 cantaloupes, 2 containers of greens, and an avocado. I still have the avocado and 2/3 of one container of greens left. I used 3 bananas and some frozen strawberries already in the house.
Exercise
I did an hour total of fat-burning aerobic activity at the gym: 1/2 on the elliptical and 1/2 on the recumbent cycle, then 1/2 an hour of stretching and floor exercises.
Special Comments
By late-evening, my pee had already returned to clear. That’s a great gauge of your rawness level…get your pee to clear just through the foods you’re eating, no additional water. If you’re at 85% raw, it will usually remain clear.
Imagine how the inside of your body is cleaning out when that’s the case…
