Mango Margarita (Totally Raw Cocktail Yumminess)

These Mango Margaritas look like gorgeously golden pureed sunshine! Oh, yeah, and… totally yummy.
This is one to memorize for your entertaining repertoire! It’s all raw, except for the tequila. And for this one, I used the tequila recommended by a tequila connoisseur I used to work with: Hornitos Anejo. Dang… was he right!
There’s orange peel here instead of triple sec (which is flavored with dried orange peel), fresh mangoes, a bit of lime… and tastes very authentic. It’s thick, not watery. And it’s quite strong… but goes down easy!
After you have this one, you may feel let down the next time you order one up at your favorite bar!

Recipe for: Mango Margarita (Totally Raw Cocktail Yumminess)
- 3 ripe mangoes, peeled and seeded
- 1-2 heaping teaspoons fresh organic orange peel (I like 2 teaspoons, but you may not like quite so orangey & bitter)
- juice from 1 lime
- 1-1/2 cups good dark tequila (Hornitos Anejo or Jose Cuervo “Black Medallion”)
- 2 cups ice
Blend everything up until smooth. Pours out 5 glasses, conversatively. [/private]
