Cucumber-Cranberry “Super-Diuretic” Live Green Smoothie

I picked up a beautiful pint of organic cranberries, famously diuretic, high in disease-fighting antioxidant phenols, and certainly fresh and seasonal as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday. Paired here with another diuretic, fresh cucumber, and with mangoes, another fruit rich in antioxidant phenols, and here’s yet another youthifying, healthifying, extremely refreshing smoothie for your LGS arsenal.
Make the smoothie with unpeeled organic cucumbers and you’ve got the added detoxing benefit of chlorophyll and turning this raw smoothie into a Live Green Smoothie!
This is mildly sweet and mildly tart, an excellent sports drink to take with you to the gym. You could even enjoy this in the evening instead of a glass of wine — it’s “dry” and won’t fill your body up with sugar so late in the day.

Recipe for: Cucumber-Cranberry “Super-Diuretic” Live Green Smoothie
- flesh from 2 mangos (about 2 heaping cups)
- 2 heaping cups cucumber
- 1 cup organic cranberries
- 2 cups ice
- spring water to 32 oz
Blend well and enjoy!
Note: If your cucumbers are organic, you can leave them unpeeled to make a Live Green Smoothie, in which case the flavor will be a bit stronger and you may like to sweeten the smoothie with the addition of some grapes, banana, raw honey, or another sweet fruit.[/private]
